Lifetime Workmanship Warranty Policy

What Does “Lifetime Warranty” Mean?

When IMAX Windscreens provides a lifetime warranty, it means we guarantee the workmanship of the windscreen installation or repair for as long as the original customer owns the vehicle.

This warranty is strictly limited to installation workmanship, leaks and sealant-related issues caused directly by IMAX Windscreens.

It does not mean that the windscreen glass, vehicle, cameras, sensors, trims, mouldings, accessories or other components are covered for life.

If a leak or sealant-related issue occurs as a direct result of our workmanship, IMAX Windscreens will inspect the issue and, where covered by this warranty, rectify the workmanship-related problem at no additional labour cost.

What Is Covered

The lifetime workmanship warranty covers:

  • Water leaks directly caused by faulty windscreen installation workmanship.

  • Air leaks directly caused by faulty windscreen installation workmanship.

  • Failure of sealant applied by IMAX Windscreens where the failure is attributable to our workmanship.

  • Workmanship-related repairs required to correct a covered leak or sealant issue.

The warranty only applies where the issue is determined to have been caused directly by the installation or repair work performed by IMAX Windscreens.

What Is Not Covered

The lifetime workmanship warranty does not cover damage to the windscreen glass or damage caused by circumstances outside our workmanship.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Cracks occurring after installation.

  • Stone chips.

  • Road debris or impact damage.

  • Accidental damage.

  • Collision damage.

  • Vandalism.

  • Glass breakage.

  • Existing damage to the vehicle or windscreen.

  • Damage caused by another person, business or repairer.

  • Damage caused by incorrect use, modification or alteration of the vehicle.

  • Damage caused by external factors or circumstances outside IMAX Windscreens' control.

A crack, chip or breakage occurring after installation is not covered by the lifetime workmanship warranty, regardless of when it occurs.

Cameras, Sensors, Trims and Other Fixtures

Customers must advise IMAX Windscreens of any cameras, sensors, accessories, electronic equipment, trims, mouldings, clips, brackets or other fixtures attached to or surrounding the windscreen before work begins.

Where possible, all cameras and removable electronic equipment attached to the windscreen should be removed by the customer before the vehicle is presented for installation or repair.

IMAX Windscreens is not responsible for damage to, malfunction of, or loss of any camera, sensor, electronic device, accessory, trim, moulding, bracket, clip or other fixture that is attached to, mounted on, installed around or otherwise connected to the windscreen, unless the damage is directly caused by proven negligence or faulty workmanship by IMAX Windscreens.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Dash cameras.

  • Interior cameras.

  • ADAS cameras and related equipment.

  • GPS devices.

  • Toll tags and electronic devices.

  • Sensors.

  • Mounting brackets.

  • Clips and fasteners.

  • Windscreen trims and mouldings.

  • Decorative or aftermarket accessories.

  • Other fixtures attached to or surrounding the windscreen.

Removal and Reinstallation of Fixtures

Where a camera, sensor, accessory or other fixture needs to be removed to complete the windscreen installation, the customer may be required to arrange its removal before the vehicle is brought to IMAX Windscreens.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, IMAX Windscreens is not responsible for removing, reinstalling, recalibrating, reconnecting, programming or configuring cameras, sensors, electronic devices or other fixtures.

Any removal, reinstallation, recalibration or adjustment performed by IMAX Windscreens, where available, may incur an additional charge.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that any cameras, sensors or other electronic systems are correctly reinstalled, recalibrated and functioning after the windscreen replacement.

Pre-Existing Conditions

IMAX Windscreens is not responsible for pre-existing damage, defects, wear, deterioration or faults affecting the vehicle, windscreen, fixtures, accessories, electronics, trims, mouldings, sensors or other components.

The removal of a windscreen can expose or affect components that were already damaged, deteriorated, incorrectly fitted or weakened before the installation.

Where such a condition is identified, IMAX Windscreens will advise the customer where reasonably possible.

Vehicle Damage and Other Components

The windscreen installation process involves removing and installing components that may be aged, brittle, damaged or affected by previous repairs.

IMAX Windscreens is not responsible for damage to vehicle components, fixtures, accessories or fittings that are not part of the windscreen installation workmanship, particularly where the component is pre-existing, aftermarket, incorrectly installed, damaged or deteriorated.

This includes components that may need to be removed or disturbed to access the windscreen.

Warranty Claim

Process

If you believe there is a leak or sealant-related issue with your windscreen installation, contact IMAX Windscreens as soon as possible.

IMAX Windscreens may inspect the vehicle to determine whether the issue is covered by this lifetime workmanship warranty.

Where the issue is determined to be directly caused by our workmanship, IMAX Windscreens will rectify the covered workmanship issue in accordance with this warranty.

The warranty does not automatically cover the replacement of the windscreen or other vehicle components.

Ownership of the Vehicle

The lifetime workmanship warranty applies for as long as the original customer owns the vehicle.

The warranty is not transferable to a subsequent vehicle owner unless IMAX Windscreens agrees otherwise in writing.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this warranty is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights, remedies, guarantees or warranties that cannot legally be excluded, restricted or modified under the Australian Consumer Law.

Where a provision of this warranty is inconsistent with a non-excludable right under Australian Consumer Law, that right will continue to apply.

In simple terms: IMAX Windscreens' lifetime warranty covers our workmanship for leaks and sealant-related installation issues. It does not provide lifetime cover for the windscreen glass, cracks, chips, cameras, sensors, accessories, trims, fixtures, vehicle components or damage unrelated to our workmanship.
